Gerber Juice is a South African-based bulk supplier of a wide range of fruit juice concentrates, purées and pulps. These high-quality products are sourced globally throughout the year through a network of certified producers and are available, most often at short notice, from bulk storage facilities in South Africa and Europe.
Gerber Juice is a member of the South African Fruit Juice Association (SAFJA) which in turn is affiliated to the IFU (International Fruit & Vegetable Juice Association). As such Gerber Juice subscribes to all its quality and certification requirements.

Gerber Juice forms part of the Gerber Goldschmidt Group South Africa and enjoys a close working relationship with its sister company Juan de Dios Hernandez Fruit & Juices SL (JDH),based in Murcia in Spain.
Shareholders and top management. Together these shareholders and members of management have more than 50 years of top-level experience of the industry. Both companies are headed by Deon Wahl, an industry stalwart with more than 30 years’ experience.
Both companies are geared to meeting the varying demands of clients, mainly trademark companies undertaking their own packaging, and bulk juice blenders, whether large or small. We strive for the highest level of professionalism throughout the entire value chain.
Gerber Juice is geared to servicing primarily the needs of South African-based clients while JDH handles most of the international sales.
Seasonal Sourcing
Linked to the seasons, products are sourced mainly from China, India, Europe, the United States, South America and South Africa as well as from countries in Africa such as Kenya. The company has developed a high level of expertise in the bulk handling of all the products in its range.
Through the location of Gerber Juice and JDH in South Africa and Spain respectively, the maximum benefit can be derived from seasonal sourcing in both the northern and southern hemispheres. In a time of increasing changes in weather patterns and the effect thereof on crop sizes, this ability is of the greatest importance in ensuring a consistency of supply throughout the year thereby enabling the company to effect deliveries to clients on the agreed dates so as not to interrupt their production cycles.
Logistics
Gerber Juice relies on a selected international group of sales and trading companies to source and supply product. Representatives of these companies remain in regular contact with suppliers and producers worldwide to determine crop potential and where the best quality is being achieved. The focus is on established suppliers with access to top-quality producers; ones who maintain high levels of manufacturing practices, operate in compliance with applicable regulations and uphold quality assurance protocols.
Once the acquisitions have been made, our logistics experts arrange for the transport and collection of the newly acquired bulk concentrates at two distribution points: at Gerber Juice’s bulk storage facility in Cape Town and JDH’s frozen and ambient storage centre in Murcia, Spain.
Quality Control
Gerber Juice has a fully-fledged quality assurance department which not only ensures that all bulk arrivals are of the required standard, but which also monitors that the concentrates and other products are handled and stored in the required manner within its bulk storage facility.
All products sold and marketed by Gerber Juice fully comply with the highest internationally recognised quality standards such as those set by the International Organisation of Standardisation (ISO) and BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.
